Strictures can form nearly anywhere within the GI tract due to many different factors. Endoscopic balloon dilation and stents are used to restore patency to the esophagus, pylorus, or colon when it has become obstructed due to a stricture.

Balloons

In addition to luminal stenting, Olympus offers EZDilate, a 3-stage balloon which was developed based on physician feedback to increase precision through all phases on endoscopic balloon dilation in the esophagus, pylorus, papilla and colon.
